VV Pokanevich was at the root of the development of the human resources system in the field of folk and non-traditional medicine of Ukraine. On his initiative and participation in 1998, the medical specialty "Doctor of folk and non-traditional medicine" was started, which was included in the list of medical positions in health care institutions.
